Our Community

Morgan County was founded in 1807 and the city of Madison was incorporated in 1809.  As the cotton economy of the county expanded so did the population of Madison, Georgia.  Many of the wealthy plantation owners who lived in the county began building the town.  Madison’s pre-civil war and Victorian homes, as well as the restored downtown, continue to offer a wide range of sites to see along Georgia’s Antebellum Trail.

As the owner of Whidby Jewelers, I am committed to being heavily involved in this community.  I see membership in civic and community organization as a must to serve our fellow Madisonians.  Beyond membership, I volunteer on numerous boards.  I believe the best way to serve your community is to give of our time and talents.  My belief is to give back to those who have given so much to us & our business.
